Working out/ being active isn’t solely based on “ looking good “ but feeling good internally and mentally. In order to grow a love for the gym, I had to keep this mindset. Without looking at it as a “task“ or without beating myself up if I wasn’t looking a certain way by a certain time based on others experiences, but more as a stress relief. This was a way to stay active, healthy and feel good in all aspects. A positive, selfish act with only great results. Once I took on this journey, I instantly regretted being my own roadblock before, questioning why I never started sooner...
Why wasn’t I appreciating the little pleasures of life that we often take for granted? Just by taking 30 - 60 minutes out of my day to be active i can reach my goal, feel more confident while also improving my health and longevity, why not! If I could spend 30, 40 mins sometimes an HOUR on my phone, why not dedicate myself to something that:
- Regulates your weight
- Reduces your risk of disease
- Reduces your risk of Type 2 Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome
- Reduces your risk of Cancer
- Strengthens your Bones and Muscles
- and most importantly, Improves Your Mental Health and Mood.
After learning this information, it became an obligation. Making excuses for the gym only made me mentally and physically ill... I became addicted to bettering myself but this was a good habit, one I did not need a break from <3
Keep in mind Its not always all about going to the gym 5 to 6 days a week of intense weight training. That’s just an option and works for me. 3 days a week/ 30-60 min sessions of your choice of activity is good enough! We all have 24 hours in the day ..choose your time wisely 💪🏻🙌🏻
